Our Mission

At MFDB, we're passionate about research and this free, not-for-profit resource is designed to:

• Provide a comprehensive archive of mythology, folklore, and source materials
• Support scholars, researchers, and students through delivering data and functionality they need
• Which will allow us to preserve the diversity of human storytelling traditions
• Contacts us by emailing myth at crecganford.com

Our Goals

1. Unparalleled Depth: We've built upon respected standards like the ATU, AT, and Thompson Indexes, as well as the Berezkin Catalogue. Our team of volunteers has meticulously enhanced and error corrected these resources, including expanding them with additional stories and cross references between indexes and catalogues.

2. Cutting-Edge Research: MFDB isn't just a static repository, it's evolving continuously with your suggestions and requirements.

3. Academic Partnership: We're committed to supporting the academic community. Whether you need custom data sets or specific functionality, we're here to help advance your research, and we will often see if there is a way of doing this for zero cost.

Be part of the Team

As a not-for-profit initiative, MFDB thrives on the support of our community. Here's how you can be part of our story:

• Become a Patreon: Your support helps us keep this valuable resource free and accessible to all. More details here.
• Spread the Word: If you find MFDB useful, consider acknowledging us in your work and websites, we have already helped academics, faculty, and students from Oxford to Harvard, from Norway to Australia.
• Shape Our Future: Have ideas for new features or data sets? We're all ears! Contact us, and let's explore how we can enhance MFDB, and where possible we will try to deliver this with zero cost.
